Well then a lot of jaw dropping moments last night as to who was in the dance off and who was voted in.

A few tense moments amongst the judges too!  Wink

I was shocked but shouldn't have been really cos as we know from other years when it's left to the public alot of the time it's not the rubbish dancers that are voted off.
When there was three of them left i thought it was gonna be down to husband and wife which would've been good and then Kenny would definitely of gone but that didn't happen unfortunately.

Oh well, i don't think Gabby was gonna win the whole thing but i think she would've gone alot further had she had the chance to.
Her dancing partner was gutted though wasn't he, hehe.

Oooh, it makes me mad!   Angry The more I watch Strictly, the more I like Craig Revel Horwood (which is frightening in itself).

It's meant to be a dancing competition.  You're meant to vote for who you think dances best.  Are people getting muddled and thinking it's like Big Brother, you vote for who you want to leave?!

Part of the problem is that you can vote all week, so someone can get loads of votes during the week then give a terrible performance on Saturday night but still be safe.

Kate was always going to stay in because of the sympathy vote for the one who gets the lowest score (plus she's dancing with Anton and ladies of a certain age love him!), but there were several really bad performances that should have ended up in the dance off, even excluding Kate.

And don't get me started on Brendan Cole.  Even I noticed there were three lifts.  I'm with Craig - disqualify them if he does it again and make them automatically bottom with the judges with a score of zero.  It's not fair on the other dancers who do stick to the rules.  Angry  Angry

James was gutted, wasn't he?  I thought HE was going to cry!  At least he will get sympathy at home from Ola, as she was in the same position with Spoony last year.  Poor James - getting a decent dancer after last year's fiasco with poor Georgina (gosh, he was mean to her) and they get voted out anyway!

Rant over!  Grin

Yes it was definately a surprise result.

I went on the Strictly Come Dancing message board yesterday and people on there were totally outraged by the result.  They thought Kate should "fall on her sword" and let Gabby have her place next week.  Apparently two of the judges said that Kate should be off the show.

Part of the problem is when a dancer gives a bad performance the judges really tell them what they think of it and the public votes for them in sympathy.  And when Tess gives out the telephone numbers she doesn't say "vote for the best dancers", but "vote for your favourite".

But this sort of thing happens every year.  Remember the year when Julian Clary reached the final.

I wonder what the professional dancers make of these results.  Doesn't it almost make it a waste of their time to teach their partners so well, to have a less able dancer voted in over them.  I wonder what would happen if they all thought, why bother, and all the celebrity dancers were awful next Saturday?

Can I just point something out:

It's all for Children In Need!

Surely the 'celebrities' involved should be more bothered about raising money than whether or not they have been treated fairly by the viewers.

Earlier this year, there was Comic Relief Does Fame Academy and Tara Palmer-Tompkinson won when clearly Tricia Penrose should have won.  Shaun Williamson lost to Tara-Palmer Tompkinson in the semi-final but he never once came out and started shouting his mouth off about how he was a much better singer did he?  No, because he had the good grace to accept that Tara Palmer-Tompkinson was more popular with the viewers and all the money was going to a good cause.

I realise that they are all working hard and want to win the competition but I do think they should remember why they are really there!

Fair enough we know that but at the end of the day it's still a dancing competition with experienced judges judging it so naturally the celebrities and the professionals want to impress them.
I have always viewed it as a competition which is why i get so annoyed when the public vote for favourites over better dancing.
Obviously it's great the money goes to such a good cause but i think they'd always make alot of money cos people will always vote we're just saying we don't like the way they do it.

Well i loved Letitia's dance as i love the Pasa Doble, not so keen on the ballroom dances but thought Alesha, Gethin and Penny did well doing the Foxtrot.

My guess to go tonight will be Kenny.

Edit: Forgot to say that Brendan is annoying the hell out of me and just wish he'd shut the hell up!

At this rate, Kate Garraway may actually win!

This week my favourite dance was actually Brendan & Kelly's.  But I do love Alesha cos as well as being a great dancer, she partners Matthew Cutler - SIGH!  So as I couldn't make my mind up, I didn't vote.

I'm quite fond of Gethin as well, dancing or not. Wink  Oh no, I'm turning into Arlene!  I kept drooling over Mark Ramprakash last year too.  Help!  Surely I'm too young to be turning into a Lady of a Certain Age!

Actually the one person I'm genuinely loving this year is Craig.  Love him on Strictly Take 2.
