Would you have shook John Terry's hand?

I know I definetely would'nt have, I'm sure he looked him in the eye thou!

JT is a bit of git, in my opinion.

Sad that Bridge has to feel he has to withdraw from playing for England, hope he changes his mind for the World Cup.

Yes i would have..i'd have held his hand firmly in mine and looked him streight in the eye..
i would be the better person for the love of the game..

but outside of the game and stadium i wouldn't even pee on him if he was on fire..

I'd have shook him firmly by the throat.

Whatever happened to bringing the game into disrepute?  Seems that FA means just that. Huh

Am I the only person here who just doesn't understand why everyone is so angry about this?  His wife has every reason to feel betrayed and let down, as does Bridge, but really, was he meant to be setting a moral example to the whole country?

Marriages fall apart and partners sometimes cheat.  It's very sad, but it's a fact of life.  If John Terry weren't famous, no-one would care.  Would you stop hiring a plumber because you heard he'd run off with his mate's wife, if he's the best plumber in town?

Oops, that sounds like a euphemism  Embarrassed

As far as I understand it, other football players are less than perfect in their private lives and some are downright thuggish.  There was Beckham and that Rebecca Loos, Stan Collymore beating up Ulrika Jonsson and weren't there a couple of players from Newcastle put inside for assault? Like any profession, there's a few nice guys, some well dodgy ones and the rest, who are mostly OK but are human and do stupid things.

Personally I don't care if he's married, divorced, gay, straight, commited, adulterous or has a fetish for beastiality.

It's none of my business, it has no impact on my life, his marital habits are irrelevant and of no interest to me whatsoever, just like football itself!

I'm annoyed because his behaviour reflects badly on the game and causes friction among his fellow players.  I also deplore the example he is setting to younger, less worldly wise, fans.

Sportsmen are, rightly or wrongly, held up as positive role models to young people and sport itself as a healthy pursuit promoting a sense of fair play.  I'm sure that infidelity and adultery don't sit well with those ideals.

That goes equally for the other footballers you mention.
